Thank you for stopping by. Please take a look around and feel free to reach out and find out happenings, projects or more. Read on to find more about my art.
At the age of two or three, I remember leaving my crayons out in the summer sun and was stunned to find on my return that they had melted. Since then my love of art continued to grow, as I see the world around me in pictures, think in visual terms and express myself best with a brush in my hand.
I thrive in creative environments, have training in traditional art methods, but find myself constantly exploring and experimenting with additional creative outlets. I keep a sketchbook, draw, paint, make mosaics, sew and design. I have painted on paper, canvas, walls, ornaments, plates and more; I see any surface as a blank canvas.
My work is picturesque, simple, colorful and whimsically depicts the subject matter. I use a variety of media and start my work with a rough sketch or idea and expand it to a full finished piece. My pieces range from scenic images to illustrations that share a story. The subjects that are chosen appeal to me for composition, color, depth, exploration or fun. I often have more ideas than I can capture and have started a venture to create at least 52 works a year, one each week. Keeping my focus as an artist is about expression and learning. No two works are ever the same, and I aim to share my work with others.
